Loved it i hadn't been there in years and it brought back some wonderful memories of times with family. Plan on going regularly now after I got my friends hooked. Our host Larry was awesome

The trip to the lodge is long and winding...literally. But it is completely worth it. The staff is friendly and courteous. The food at the dining area is very good with excellent service. We stay here every year and it continues to be a great time.

Staff of courteous and friendly and the location is fantastic. The lodge rooms are very dated and need to be updated. Overall a nice place to stay though.

As for the lodge, some rooms have good WiFi, others are connected to repeaters that don't work so well. But no worries, if you get a room without reliable internet, just walk down the hall until you can get a working connection, tell the front desk which room number the working connection starts at, and you'll get moved to the nearest empty room. Free breakfast is coffee and delicious cinnamon or almond paste pastries, which are likely local because they're too tasty and interesting not to be. Also, the restaurant serves the best chocolate cheesecake I've ever had, the chocolate was so rich, complex, dark, and fresh that it almost tasted like berries. I had trouble finishing a small half-slice, and I'm a 6'3" guy who'd been hiking all day.

We love North Bend. We have been there more than a few times with a group and they always treat us very well. Cabins are cozy and clean. The lodge is wonderful. The dining room is so full of light and beautiful WV scenery all around. Can't always get to book at North Bend, it has so many programs going on.

Beautiful park (is West Virginia ever not beautiful?), abundant wildlife, and decent wifi. Some of the trails are under construction, one was closed because it hadn't been permanently marked and another required sliding down a steep mountainside because the stairs were still being built, but it's all fun, gorgeous, and not too dangerous. If anything the rough edges help in appreciating the scenery, you'd otherwise be speeding down a wide, flat trail without looking around all that much. 3 deer casually walked right in front of me! The park's trail system connects to a rail trail just outside its borders, with lots of cool tunnels, bridges, and ghost-towns to explore.
